IAS Papers : UPSC announced the results of the Civil Services (Main) 2008
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2008.
This result is based on the written part of the examination, held by the UPSC in October-November, 2008 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-April, 2009.
Selected candidates have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS); Indian Foreign Service (IFS); Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
A total number of 791 candidates have been recommended for appointment including 364 General (including 13 Physically Challenged candidates), 236 Other Backward Classes (including 07 Physically Challenged candidates), 130 Scheduled Castes and 61 Scheduled Tribes candidates.
UPSC has a “Facilitation Counter” near Examination Hall in its campus. Candidates can obtain any information / clarification regarding their examinations / recruitments during working hours in person or over telephone Nos. 23385271 / 23381125 / 23098543.
A total number of 3,18,843 candidates applied for this examination. 1,67,035 candidates appeared for the Preliminary examination. 11,849 candidates qualified for the Main written examination held in October-November, 2008.
2140 candidates were selected for the Personality Test conducted in March-April, 2009. The successful candidates include 625 male and 166 female candidates.
